Erlang
Erlang, short for Erlang Programming Language, is a concurrent, functional programming language created by Joe Armstrong, Robert Virding, and Mike Williams at Ericsson in 1986. It was designed to build fault-tolerant, distributed, and real-time systems that must run continuously without interruption. Erlang is used in telecommunications infrastructure, messaging systems, distributed databases, and high-availability servers across large-scale systems.
Unreal Engine
Unreal Engine, short for Unreal Engine, was created in 1998 by Tim Sweeney and developed by Epic Games. Unreal Engine is a high-performance, cross-platform game engine used for creating AAA-quality 3D and 2D games, simulations, virtual production, and interactive experiences. It is used across desktops, consoles, mobile devices, VR/AR platforms, and cloud-based services.
Kodu
Kodu, short for Kodu Game Lab, was created in 2009 by researchers at Microsoft’s FUSE Labs, led by Matthew MacLaurin and James MacLennan. Kodu is a visual programming language and environment designed for creating games and interactive simulations, particularly aimed at education and novice programmers. It is used in classrooms, educational programs, and hobbyist projects.
